Worldflow

Worldflow is the main source of energy in An Inorganic Life. It is generated by a thing's Worldflow rating, and determines a number of things.

Worldflow Points are awarded at a rate of Worldflow Rating/100 per round. An Inorganism must have a Worldflow rating of at least 100, otherwise it will disintegrate, or turn into a Device Shell (see below). An Inorganism may keep up to one hundred times its Worldflow Rating in Worldflow Points, unless otherwise stated, or unless the points are put into a special Device for safe keeping. Only Inorganisms generate Worldflow Points.

Worldshaping

Worldshaping is the ability to turn Worldflow Points into a practical effect. It does not allow permanently altering an object, but it allows effects to be applied to objects. Below is a list of possible Worldshape effects:

Alteration (Temporary):

Alignment Alteration: An Inorganism or Device's Alignment may be changed by one point per ten points of Worldflow energy put into altering its alignment. It may go to any alignment. The effects of Alignment Alteration last ten turns.

Atom Add: The effects of one atom (which must be possessed by the Worldshaper) may be grafted onto a Device or Inorganism for one turn, but the atom is destroyed, and five Worldflow points are used up.

Levitate: Lower the weight of an Inorganism or Device by 50 points for a turn, at the cost of one Worldshape Point. If the target's weight is lowered below zero, you may spend double the price to move it one tile, for as many tiles as wanted (at an additional rate of 5 points per tile beyond the first tile).

Light Source: A light source allows any Inorganisms within five tiles to see in the dark, costing 2 points per turn.

Worldcloak: Totally hides an Inorganism from sight, costing 5 points per turn.

Worldheal: Allows an Inorganism to restore 50 Worldflow rating to another Inorganism, at the cost of 25 Worldflow points. Cannot heal above Worldflow Capacity.

Worldsight: Allows an Inorganism to see Inorganisms weaving an Worldcloak. Costs 3 points per turn.

Worldjoin: Allows an Inorganism to join the Worldflow to move. Costs 50 points, allows movement to any visible area.

Worldmissile: Shoots a projectile at any visible Inorganism or Device capable of causing fifty damage to the Worldflow Rating of the target until it heals. It costs 25 points to weave.

Worldforging

Worldforging allows for brutal combat attacks, and creation of Devices or Inorganisms. Worldforging points may be bought with 10 Worldflow Points each, and do not have a limit on possession or usage, but may not be converted back.

Atom Create: Create an atom. It requires all the sub-atoms and a number of Worldforge points equal to the rarity, or rarity*10 to make an atom without sub-atoms.

Atom Destroy: Destroy an atom. It requires at least rarity*5, but you get sub-atoms from the atoms.

Create Device: Create a Device, using atoms. Costs 5 points per atom in the device.

Disintegrate Device: Disintegrate an Device and take the atoms that make it up. Costs 2 points per atom in the device.

Destroy Device: Destroy a Device and its atoms. Costs 1 point per atom in the device.

Device Shells

While not related to Worldflow, Device Shells are what occurs if an Inorganism's Worldflow Rating drops below 100, but stays above 0. Until atoms are added, changed, or removed to increase the Inorganism's Worldflow Rating back to a safe level, the Inorganism is just an ordinary object, with no ability to move, think, or do anything at all. An Inorganism can be turned into a Device Shell by Worldshaping, but not disintegrated (its Worldflow rating stays above 0). However, Worldforging may cause disintegration to occur.

Alignment

Alignment is a type of specialization. It provides potential benefits, but provides disadvantages for polar opposites. Below is a list of elements, the ones on the right are incompatible with their partners on the left. If put together, these alignments will neutralize any of each others' effects. The closer they're listed, the less net difference is required to overcome the other. (I.E. Three fire will overcome a water, two Energy a Void, and Four Earth an Air). Elements not horizontally partnered can merge with each other (I.E. water, earth, life, and energy, or fire, air, life, and void).

Fire===Water
Earth====Air
Decay===Life
Energy==Void
